Renovations, furnishings and new kitchen in a house which originally lacked a cohesive style. To unify the disjoint spaces, a mix of prairie style and Japanese elements were combined. (One of the owners is Japanese.)
Elements in the new kitchen include beechwood cabinetry, wide plank flooring to match the rest of the house and a patterned colored concrete fireplace surround. Appliances and counters are set at custom heights to accommodate the owner's height.
